A beauty salon website needs to exude the peaceful wellbeing you get when you enter the bricks and mortar salon. The Snug Beauty Salon website project had 2 main goals:
About the client
The Snug Beauty and Wellbeing Salon is a beauty salon on Clarendon Park Road in Leicester which is exclusively for women. The Snug offers a wide range of beauty and wellbeing treatments in a calm and serene environment.
The salon was founded by local entrepreneur, Sarah Hiles. It is popular with women looking for spa-grade treatments on their doorstep. The business has expanded to support 4 members of staff.

The brief
Sarah had a legacy, hand-built HTML site which she was unable to access to update the site content.
I’ve worked with many business owners with legacy websites built in HTML. The most common issue I hear is frustration at having to get technical help every time something needs updating. Sarah really wanted to be able to update her own website with new treatments and changing prices on-going. In short, her business needed a Content Management System (CMS).
Half the site was already in the Shopify ecommerce platform, so we decided to make this the primary location for all site content. Consolidating her online presence into one platform meant Sarah could stop paying for both hosting and a Shopify subscription.
My aim is always to hand the keys of the site over to the client at the end of a project. Help and support is always available, but empowerment is my watchword. It’s your website and you should have full admin access.
After a couple of 1:1 training session on the Shopify CMS, Sarah was comfortable to take the reins and was delighted to have a site she could update herself.
Putting the fiishing touches to the Snug Beauty Salon website
After the technical migration was completed, we moved on to the website design. This is always the fun part. Sarah wanted to make sure the new Snug Beauty Salon site had a more contemporary and brand-aligned look and feel. The photography was completely updated and existing design elements were integrated to maintain brand consistency.
Needless to say, digital marketing was baked into the site build. Maintaining onsite SEO integrity was a crucial part of the finished product. Any expiring pages were set up with redirects to their new URL locations.
Finally, we focused on the email automations coming from the site. We reviewed the design and content of all site-generated emails to maintain consistency and efficiency in the email communications to customers.
